THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1963 UK '5th' PRESS *STEREO* LP
**'MID-SIZED' STEREO COVER'**
This rare 1963 UK 5th STEREO pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Parlophone Co..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed in a rare front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed 'mid-sized' stereo logo cover.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1
Stamper numbers: 1/RL & 1/RG
Labels: EXCELLENT PLUS
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both surfaces are bright, clean and retain their deep gloss 'as new' finish in direct daylight with no marks or scratches to either side.
Careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than some light inner-sleeve removal hairlines, but no further significant marks, or any scratches at all.
Audio: NEAR MINT
This copy has been barely played and happily all tracks play perfectly without any background noise or groovewear distortion on any track.
Both run-ins and all bands play silently and there are no clicks, pops or indeed any trace of any audible wear anywhere.
An amazing sounding disc from the very first 'mother's' stampers which would be difficult to better.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A top-class example of this rare cover which retains an unscratched, high-gloss front laminate with no 'thumbnails' or ringwear.
Apart form 2 light creases to the lower right corner & slight 'foxing' to the upper white banner, there are no other signs of wear.
All the corners are clean & square & both opening edges have no tears or feathering.
The rear panel is clean and white with just some toning to the flipback edges but no marks, writing or missing paper.
The spine is pristine, square and unbent and both seams are clean, strong & undamaged.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Light creasing from storage but clean & white with no tears or splits.
