1963 UK '2nd' PRESS MONO LP
**1st EDITION Y & B LABEL FACTORY SAMPLE**
This very rare 1963 '2nd' mono pressing is on the very first incarnation of the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels carry the small, extra '33 1/3' speed figure and omit the 'Sold in UK..' & 'Recording First Published..' texts
The side 1 label carries a genuine pointed-ended 'Factory Sample' sticker.
The early 'MT tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'E. J. Day' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 1/RM & 1/RR

Visual: VERY GOOD PLUS
Clean & glossy surfaces undulled by overplay or poor storage.
An occaisional faint fingernail scuff & very light scratch is visible in strong daylight but there are no heavy marks or any deep or 'feelable' scratches.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals some light sleeve removal/paper hairlines but no no further marks or wear.
Pressed on very heavy, thick vinyl which lies 100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT
Clean, warm and rich sound with no trace of groovewear distortion or background crackle on an track. Even the extreme peaks play loud & clear.
There are 2 clicks between tracks 1 & 2 on side 1 but otherwise both run ins and all bands play very quietly & without interference.
There are no heavy clicks, jumps, repeats or any other major audible fault anywhere.
Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS
Bright & clean front panel with some light wrinkles around the edges but no heavy creasing or major signs of wear.
The lower right corner has some missing paper but the others display just some minor shelfwear.
Both opening edges very clean & sharp without any significant wear and no tears or feathering.
The rear panel is white with some small discolouration spots but no writing, yellowing or missing paper.
All the delicate flipbacks are intact & the spine & seams are clean & undamaged.
