THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1963 UK '3rd' PRESS *STEREO* LP
**ULTRA-RARE 1st Y&B LABELS**
Pressed for just a few days, this 1st yellow & black pressing is arguably rarer than black & gold labelled copies.
This ultra-rare 1963 UK '3rd' STEREO pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Both omit the 'Sold in UK..' & 'Recording First Published..' texts.
The labels include the small '33 1/3' figure in the 9 o'clock position.
The rims around each label begin 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..'
There is no tax/price code is visible on on either label.
Housed a 'gold & black'/1st issue front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed cover.
The 'Angus McBean' credit is positioned in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with its original poly-lined 'Use Emitex' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1
Stamper numbers: 1/P & 1/G
The '1/G' mother/stamper confirms that this copy was one of the first few hundred pressed.
Clean & bright with just some light spindle marks and a tiny pinhead-sized area of missing paper on label 2.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both sides are extremely clean, bright & glossy with no groove-whitening or dulling to either surface from improper long-term storage.
Careful examination in daylight & directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals only some wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines.
There are no scuffs, scratches or any other significant wear to either side.
100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT
This disc has recieved fairly frequent but careful play, the sound throughout is clean, warm & clear.
There is no crackle or groovewear distortion is audible in either channel on any track.
Apart from a touch of light background between some tracks, there is little to fault.
There are no heavy clicks, jumps, repeats or any other major faults anywhere.
Cover: VERY GOOD
This rare example is displays moderate handling & storagewear but no major faults.
The front panel is clean & glossy with just a few light lower edge wrinkles but no other creasing or wear.
The upper edge edge has some minor wear and there is some light rubbing to each corner.
Some light wear is visible to the front opening edge but there are no tears or feathering.
The rear panel bears some general light handling marks & two small stains towards the upper edge but no writing or missing paper.
Apart from some minor wear to the lower flipback, all are intact and inplace.
Both seams are intact and the spine is clean & fully worded.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean and undamaged with just minor storagewear, but no splits, tears or writing.
