1963 UK 1st PRESSING *BLACK & GOLD* LABEL MONO LP
**OUTSTANDING COPY**
This superb 1963 mono 1st pressing is on the UK black & gold Parlophone label: PMC 1202
The labels have the incorrect 'Dick James Mus. Co.' publishing credits for songs: 1 & 2 on side 1 and 4 & 6 on side 2.
The 'MT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed in a correct, early front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J. Day' printed mono cover with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/R
One of the first few hundred copies pressed.

A beautiful, pristine set with no spindle trails, marks, touch-up, writing or missing paper.
Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS
This copy has been barely played & carefully stored since purchase in the correct conditions and as a result both surfaces retain their deep gloss shines.
Viewed in strong daylight, just two or three light fingernail marks are visible on either side but there are but no heavy marks or any scratches at all.
Close inspection directly beneath a halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than a few wispy paper hairlines and no additional marks or wear.
100% flat on both sides with no signs of dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS
Unlike most surviving copies, this example has recieved just a few careful plays.
The sound quality on every track is clean & clear with no background or groovewear distortion in either channel.
At volume, I detected just a touch of peak groovewear on 'Twist & Shout' only. All other tracks play perfect and without wear.
Both run-ins & all bands play silently without any clicks, hiss or pops & there are no jumps, repeats or other major faults anywhere.
Cou will not be disappointed.
Cover: EXCELLENT MINUS
A pristine, unscratched & unworn front panel which bears just a single 1.5cm small wrinkle but no 'thumbnails', creasing or other wear.
There is 6cm section of minor laminate wear to the lower edge both upper & lower seams are intact & unsplit.
The corners have some light rubbing to their extremities but no bumps or bruising.
Both opening edges are clean sharp without any tears or feathering.
The rear is clean with just some faint handling wear and small written initials in the upper left corner.
All the delicate flipbacks are present & intact and have no signs of wear.
The spine is in perfect unbent condition with clean, intact wording.
This disc has been carefully audibly graded in its entirety on a Rega P9 deck fitted with a Shelter 901 cartridge.
