Description
Beatles - Please Please me
Parlophone - Mono - PMC 1202 (1965)
Record/Sleeve: EX/VG
Matrix Side One: XEX421-1N 10 RPL (Tax Stamp MT)
Matrix Side Two: - XEX422-2N 1 G
The record has been cleaned and play tested, and sounds really nice with occasional light crackle and tics that tend to be buried beneath the music. This isn't one of those copies where there is continuous crackle from beginning to end. There is one small mark track 4 side one (that gives off some quiet clicks) and a small number of hairlines but nothing feelable. Labels are nice but as you might expect, has some spindle trails. Has an 'MT' tax stamp at spindle hole.
The flipback laminated 'large mono' sleeve is showing it's age and has laminate creases as well as a couple of bends. On the plus side, there is no ring wear, the non-laminated back has age spots but not the normal 'dirty fingers' handling marks or writing, and the top and bottom of the sleeve has no edge wear. The spine is solid and legible with some cracking of the laminate. The opening has some feathering indicating that the record has been in and out of the sleeve a few times. A VG grade could be considered generous but given that I've seen so many versions of this age in rough condition, I don't think it's bad. Please check photos. Has an Emitex inner sleeve.
