Details: 1st & rarest Australian Beatles LP, gold & black label pressing with 'Made in Australia for the Parlophone Co. Ltd, Sydney, NSW' text & original imported UK cover with correct photographer credit per gold & black label UK version.
Widely estimated that there were perhaps only 500 copies of this album pressed & sold with an imported cover before it was housed in the notoriously flimsy Australian 'blue lettering' cover. Presumably, Parlophone were just testing the Australian market with this very limited run, so this is an extremely rare & collectable pressing. Further details here:

The LP comes with the original UK flipback sleeve only issued with the very rare UK gold black label versions of the LP. These sleeves always have the 'Photo: Angus McBean' credit closer to the bottom right corner of the front sleeve, & 'Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd. London' printed on the rear of the sleeve (see pictures) - beware of fakes housed in later UK sleeves.
Unfortunately, the original owner has left a faint biro signature on the rear of the sleeve, and there is a split, although not noticeable, to the top (3cm) & bottom (13cm) of the sleeve (see pictures).
The rare gold & black labels are quite clean, although there's mild spindle wear & some remnants of glue on one label where, presumably, someone stuck an ownership label. Vinyl is fairly clean & bright but there are visible scuffs caused by removing record from inner sleeve & general 'wear & tear' from repeated plays.
This copy has been played many times, but the quality of the original pressing process (deep groove heavyweight vinyl) means it's still very listenable and there's no major deterioration in sound quality, but it does have hiss between tracks and there are pops & clicks throughout. Please note that in addition, the first track on side 2 - 'Love me do' skips once after a few seconds in the first few opening bars.
Condition: Cover VG-/Vinyl VG-, but very rare.
