***BID WITH CONFIDENCE: Having been a serious Beatles collector since the 1970s, I strive for accurate grading, detailed item descriptions & photos, careful packaging and fast shipping.

PLEASE NOTE: Auction is for the promo stamped cover ONLY - LP is NOT included (only because that’s how I bought it).
Although it's a standard US 1964 Mono cover for Meet The Beatles, #3 on back cover, the rarity of this copy is the designate promo stamp marking that Capitol used at that time.
As shown in the pics, the back cover has the words “FREE PROMOTIONAL ALBUM NOT TO BE SOLD” in a rectangular box, stamped in red ink.
Although completely legible, it’s a little faint - more so in the center. So I assume that the either the stamp didn’t evenly soak up the red ink from its pad, or the cover wasn’t perfectly flat when it was stamped.
It hasn’t faded in the roughly 25 years I’ve owned it, but I can’t say whether there had been some fading by the time I purchased it.
OVERALL CONDITION:
No bends, creases, tears or seam splits. All four corners are square, with no damage to the corner tips (e.g., no exposed cardboard).
FRONT:
Minimal isolated visual wear on the bottom center. There are few scratches in the area of Lennon’s chest. There is mild ring indention (not ring wear) from the LP that was inside, most visible on the right. Almost no yellowing.
BACK:
Unfortunately, there’s writing in the upper left area. There are a few small individual spots that appear to me to be age spots, most visible in the upper left area. Very minimal yellowing.
A rare period piece, 1964 vintage.
