RARE MONO FIRST PRESSING, WITH ALTERNATE VERSION OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS, SIDE 2 MATRIX XEX 606-1.
The Beatles ‘REVOLVER’ album - considered one of most ICONIC and COLLECTIBLE Albums of the 20th Century - was released by Parlophone UK in 1966. EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER by Collectors around the World today, this is a RESPECTABLE example of the RARE FIRST ISSUE MONO VARIANT LP, with the side 2 matrix of **XEX 606-1**, containing the ALTERNATE VERSION of TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS.
Album Description and Condition:
The ORIGINAL 1966 UK MONO, FIRST ISSUE Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both record labels are in RESPECTABLE excellent condition, no fading to the printed text, minimal wear to the centre spindle holes, and several centre spider trails to each side.
Both sides of the HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl Disc are in Very Good condition, bright vinyl surfaces showing light surface hairlines and a few feelable scratches.
The album plays well throughout, with light background crackle, and the occasional click, there are NO SKIPS to any of the tracks, the Tomorrow Never Knows Track, play’s very well.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1/RD and Side 2: 3/GH.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 1 record label.
The album comes in it’s ‘Made In Gt Britain’ inner bag which is in excellent condition. There is NO handwriting or seam splitting, just some light creasing and age discolouration.
The Vinyl LP is housed in an ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, FIRST ISSUE, Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd. London, with printed **mono** to the top right front corner.
The Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd. London, sleeve is in Very Good Plus condition.
The front laminated panel still retains its gloss, with only tiny corner bumps to each corner.
The back panel is clean and undamaged, showing only mild ring wear, and light age toning, All three flipbacks are undamaged. The spine edge shows light wear, otherwise a nice allround sleeve.
Overall a RESPECTABLE all round example of this ICONIC RARE Variant Beatles UK FIRST ISSUE Album.
