RARE MONO FIRST PRESSING, WITH ALTERNATE VERSION OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS, SIDE 2 MATRIX XEX 606-1, RESPECTABLE EXAMPLE, WITH GARROD & LOFTHOUSE SLEEVE.
The Beatles ‘REVOLVER’ album - considered one of most ICONIC and COLLECTIBLE Albums of the 20th Century - was released by Parlophone UK in 1966. EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER by Collectors around the World today, this is a RESPECTABLE example of the RARE FIRST ISSUE MONO VARIANT LP, with the side 2 matrix of **XEX 606-1**, containing the ALTERNATE VERSION of TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS.
Album Description and Condition:
The ORIGINAL 1966 UK MONO, FIRST ISSUE Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both record labels are in RESPECTABLE Very Good Plus condition, showing some centre spider trails.
Both sides of the HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl Disc are in Very good condition, showing surface scratches, and surface hairlines, there are no deep scratches or scuffs.
Having played the album, the play quality is great, there is some very mild background crackle, with the odd click, the sound quality is much better than i expected, the surface marks do not cause any skips.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 6 MP and Side 2: 2 RP.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 1 record label.
The album comes in an ORIGINAL ‘lined USE EMITEX’inner bag, the bag shows age yellowing, a couple of seam splits, and a small tear to the top.
The Vinyl LP is housed in an ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, FIRST ISSUE, Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd, sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner.
The Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in Very Good condition. The front laminated panel still retains its gloss, with mild corner bruising to each corner, The back panel is clean and undamaged, showing rubbing/wear marks. All three flipbacks are in tact. The spine edge shows a little wear, the other edges are undamaged. There is some age discolouration to the opening edge of the sleeve, and light record indentation.
Overall a RESPECTABLE all round example of this ICONIC RARE Variant Beatles UK FIRST ISSUE Album.
