The Beatles Band-Signed Please Please Me Album Cover. A vintage album cover for the British Parlophone Records edition of the Beatles' first LP, signed on the reverse by the band members. John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison each provided bold, clear signatures: John and George in blue ballpoint, with George adding "love from" and both adding "XXX" after their signatures. Paul has signed in blue fountain pen and added "love" before and "XXX" after his signature. These three signatures date from mid-1963. The Ringo Starr autograph was taken from another Please Please Me album cover that was signed by him in 1964 in black ballpoint, removed from that cover and affixed to this one by a professional paper restoration expert.
Rush-released on March 22, 1963, in the UK to capitalize on the success of singles "Please Please Me" and "Love Me Do", the album was the first of what would be many groundbreaking, chart-topping, iconic LPs released by the Beatles over a relatively brief seven years. It continues to score high on numerous "Greatest Album" and "Greatest Song" lists
