Description
The Beatles Records On Vee-Jay hardcover book, published in 1998 by 498 Productions, LLC. Written by Bruce Spizer and highly sought after as there was only one limited edition printing (thus this is a 1st Edition). This example is Number 21 out of 2,500 numbered copies! It is in near mint, perfect, pristine condition. I was involved with Bruce during his research on this, his first Beatles book, providing information on the printing process and album cover construction processes used during the mid-sixties period Vee-Jay was selling as many Beatles albums as they could before Capitol was finally able to stop them. I have been collecting Beatles vinyl since 1964 and am well regarded in the collectors community.
This copy is inscribed to me, Chris Ridges, and signed by both Bruce and Perry Cox. The signature page is hand-numbered #21/2500 which is placed over the embossed "498 Productions" seal, lower right corner (see photo).
The photographs I have taken of the book include the signature page AND the page where Bruce has mentioned my contributions ( a close-up of the paragraph on page vii in the Acknowledgements section).
All of Bruce's Beatles 498 Publications records books are highly regarded by fans and collectors. His name is mentioned often in Beatles circles as the one, authoritative and final word on any and everything to do with their original vinyl records outpouring from the sixties.
