Description

For auction this rare  mis-press Beatles Revolver LP with the remix 11 track of "Tomorrow Never Knows" .

The story is well documented that John Lennon, unhappy with this particular version , insisted on this being pulled at the last minute, unfortunately the presses had already been rolling and some copies were distributed before they could be recalled hence the mspress, this being one of them and although this is not a perfect upgrade copy it may be worth looking at as the overall general condition I would guage as VG generally more details below on specifics.

I am currently in the process of listing a number of albums for a family member, in this weeks listing all Beatles or related, a number have recieved little play and this is reflected in the condition so please feel free to check these out in my other items please read on for a more detailed description of this particular item.

MATRIX No -  XEX 605-2/XEX 606-1

STAMPERS - RC 1/MA 5

CONDITION:

SLEEVE - VG Garrod and Lofthouse sleeve, front cover - slight ringwear but no splits or tears, laminate crease to right running parrallel and curving approx 2" inch from opening edge, this runs all way down the edge of the cover, but thier is no laminate split throughout this crease, Laminate lift to top left corner approx half an inch wide by 2.5 inch long, again laminate has not been broken, varios oter creases but woith no laminate lifts inc 2 or 3 thumbnail shaped creases near opening edge. Back panel - All 3 laminated flipbacks are tight and intact though do have so creasing and discolouration the matt dark panel is clean and unmarked apart from a similar curved crease alomg the opening edge approx 2" in, although this is not as pronounced as the front panel. Approx 2.5" of ruubbed laminate of the top of the spine as the photo shoes but apart from the odd storage bump mark the rest of the edges are intact and the opening edge has escaped rough treatment and only slightly worn.

INNER - G Patent applied for white inner sleeve which is incorrect for this LP, but incl with it anyway as thier is no emitex sleeve, 2.5" stain to right hand esge and general discolouration with approx 3.5" split to bottom edge, it will be advisable to scource a correct original emitex or repro sleeve for this.

LABELS - EX/VG many spindle marks to both labels and the initials JP in biro on side 2 parlophone logo, with KT tax code to side 1, apart from this labels have retained thier original clear text and colour with no other marks.

VINYL VISUAL - VG/VG Disc weight -150 gm Various scratches and marks throughout both sides though none of them feelable, and one may fear that purely from a visual point of view that the sound reproduction would be affected badly however gladly this is not so as you will see from below.

VINYL PLAY

I played the entire album throughout at high volume on a my very unforgiving Bang and Olufsen and was pleasantly surprised with the standard of the sound having seen the condition of the vinyl and my fears were somewhat unfounded, yes thier is a constant light background crackle throughout especially apparent on the quieter tracks, and apart from the occasional pop and click the album plays extremely well with a crisp reproduction that is typical of these early extremely well made high quality EMI discs again considering the visual condition.

The record plays totally flat with no warping.

If you have any other questions regarding this item or would like further information please don't hesitate to contact me and I will be happy to help in any way I can.

As a collector myself for some 25 years and also a buyer I realize how important it is that items are detailed very accurately and care is taken with despatch therefore in all cases the following is applicable:

The description I use is as detailed as possible and condition is based on that given in "The Record Collector Rare Record Guide" I also tend to err on the side of caution with these gradings, and in some cases it may appear that thier is more wrong with the record than normally would appear, this is my attempt to be as clear and as accurate as possible, As a buyer I would value this piece of mind and likewise I attempt to offer this as a seller.

All items purchased will be carefully packaged within stiff card mailers and polythene covers with the record itself removed from the sleeve to prevent further wear on the outer and inner sleeves, and despatched signed for Royal Mail second class to illiminate the possibility of losses, this will always be done within 3 days of recieving full payment, this also includes insurance to a certain value, if the value of the item sells higher than this I will mail at a higher level of insurance that will cover the value.

All records prior to despatch are vaccuum cleaned on a VPI specialist vinyl cleaner which will remove all dust and deposits.

GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY BIDDING
