Ultra rare withdrawn issue

Cataloguue Number: PMC 7009

Matrix numbers: XEX 605 -1 and XEX 606 -1

When this was first issued George Martin included the wrong mix of "Tommorrow Never Knows". The mistake was corrected almost immediately but not before a number of copies crept out with the different version of this classic track. There are a number of noticeable differences between this and the authorised version. As George Martin himself has said: it would be impossible to recreate the mix exactly even using today's technology. This is a one off with numerous differences particularly in the fade out.

The record itself is in fair to good condition. Visually it is fair with a large number of surface marks that are clearly visible in daylight. There are a couple of more noticeable marks but none that sound particularly loud. The sound is graded good; much better than one might expect from the visual grading. There is some crackling in between tracks and some light noise in quieter tracks but the lp plays very well. Tommorrow Never Knows itself is fine and is graded at least good, soundwise, if not better. The record sits flat on the turntable and there are no skips or jumps.

The labels are in very good condition. There is evidence of significant wear at the holes and some small writing on the yellow logo on one side otherwise they are fine. There are no stickers rips or tears.

The cover is in very good condition. It is clean and tidy with some browning to the rear bottom left. There is only the slightest feathering and the flaps are intact and clean. There is only light creasing. Were it not for the browning to the bottom left corner the cover would be excellent.

This is certainly not a final keeper's copy (you'll pay upwards of £3000 for that) but is actually very playable and would be a nice collection filler for the collecter on a tighter budget.

I am not a dealer but am finally selling my collection of 60s and 70s first pressings. My listings will be including all Beatles, Beach Boys and Stones 60s lps in Mono & Stereo (if issued in that form); first pressings of all Hendrix, Dylan, Cream, Doors, Love, Led Zep, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd and countless others.

Low start, no reserve and free UK postage. Insurance available on request.
