1966 UK 1st MONO PRESSING

*XEX 606-1*


This first day of release copy is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009

Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK.. text & have 'Gramophone Co..' rims.

The side 2 label bears the 'Dr Robert spelling & a 'KT' tax/price code.

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.

Complete with its original plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: XEX 605-2 & XEX 606-1

Stamper numbers: 1/GO & 3/GA

Disc weight: 148g

Labels: EXCELLENT

Clean & bright with the only sign of wear being some spindle marks around each centre hole

Visual: VERY GOOD

Both surfaces are clean & glossy but do display some noticeable surface marks together with the occaisional scratch, a few of which are feelable. However, both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.

Play: GOOD

Clearly played many times, some light background is audible throughout, especially during the quieter tracks. There is also some groove damage at the beginning of 'I'm Only Sleeping' and a few clicks mixed in too but no jumps, repeats or any other such major faults anywhere on this rare pressing.

Cover

VERY GOOD -

General handling & storagewear. The front panel is clean with just a few minor spine bends and there is slight wear to the corners & opening edges. The rear panel has some small marks aside some of the song titles and there is a faint pink spot on John's shirt. However, all flipbacks are intact and both semas and the spine are undamaged.

Inner-sleeve

VERY GOOD

General storagewear creasing but no splits, tears or writing.
