THE BEATLES - 'REVOLVER'
1966 UK *1st MONO* PRESSING* LP
This initial mono pressing, available for a few days only upon release in August 1966, contains an alternate version of the song 'Tomorrow Never Know' (otherwise known as 'remix 11'). This version features the sound effects dropped in different places in the track and also has a slightly longer fade-out with a piano not audible in the replaced 606-2 & 606-3 cuts. Despite 'Revolver being reissued in mono in the current 'Remasters' series, it does NOT have the 'remix 11' version of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' - it' can only and will ever be found here on this 1st vinyl pressing.
This copy of that same rare UK mono 1st pressing from 1966 is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7009
Both include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
The side 2 label bears the 'Dr. Robert' spelling & a 'KT' code.
Housed in the rarer front-laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed mono cover.
Complete with its plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.

Labels: VERY GOOD
Numerous spindle trails to the centre holes but clean & bright overall.
Visual: VERY GOOD -
Both surfaces are clean but do bear several noticeable surface marks and light scratches consistent with frequent handling & play. However, none are deep or 'feelable' and both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Play: GOOD
This copy has been played many times but is without any major audible faults or wear. As usual with this LP, some light background crackle is audible in some of the quieter passages but I did not hear any groovewear distortion. There are a few light ticks on the introduction to 'Love You To' and a few seconds of hiss in the band between track 2 & 3 but no heavy clicks, jumps or any other major audible fault. This really is a copy to fill a gap in your collection until a better one comes along.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A very respectable example which retains a clean and most importantly white front panel with no yellowing or significant signs of wear. All corners are free of heavy bumps and both opening edges are clean, sharp & undamaged. The rear panel is clean & black with no major ring/storage wear, marks, writing or missing paper to any area. All flipbacks are fully intact and all seams are unstressed & unsplit. There are a few tiny splits to the laminate on the spine but it is otherwise solid, fully worded & undamaged.
Inner-sleeve
VERY GOOD
General handling & storagewear without major faults.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on an EMT 950 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
- All the photos in this listing have been taken by myself and are of the actual items for sale.
- All records are professionally & securely in custom-made record mailing boxes with the disc removed from the cover.
