1966 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
THIS 1st DAY ISSUE FEATURES THE ALTERNATE/'REMIX 11' VERSION OF 'TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS', ONLY AVAILABLE ON THIS *XEX 606-1* MONO PRESSING
This rare issue is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009
With 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims on both labels
Label 2 carries the incorrect 'Dr Robert' spelling.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.
Housed in the rarer front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.

Labels: VERY GOOD +
Numerous spindle marks and slight hole wear but no writing or missing paper.
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Both surfaces are extremely clean and bright and retain their original deep-gloss shine with no dull or cloudy areas on either side. Careful inspection in strong daylight show up a few small and faint fingernail scuff lines and inner-sleeve removal marks but nothing I would call a scratch. Close examination of both sides directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals a bright rainbow shine together with some inevitable handling marks and wispy paper hairlines but no heavy marks or any further major signs of wear.
Play: VERY GOOD +
This copy has received frequent but careful play but there is no significant deterioration to the sound throughout or any major faults. My careful playcheck revealed only a faint hint of background on 'Eleanor Rigby' and 'Here,There & Everywhere' but no groovewear distortion - even on the innermost tracks. Nor did I detect and clicks, pops on or between any track. Side 2 plays superbly and most importantly, the superior, alternate mix of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' with its differently mixed sound-effects and extended fade-out plays without fault.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A very clean & strong example with just some light handling & storagewear but no major faults. The front panel is clean, white & glossy with just a single small 'thumbnail' crease towards the opening edge but sharp & undamaged corners and opening edges. The rear panel bears some inevitable storagewear rubbing behind John's head but is otherwise clean & black with no writing or missing paper. All flipbacks clean & intact with just a small area of missing laminate tothe upper one. Both seams and the spine are unstressed & undamaged.
Inner-sleeve
VERY GOOD
The paper has yellowed with age and has general wear but no major faults.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
- Unless stated, all records lie 100% flat & play without distortion, jumps or sticks. All sleeves/covers have no writing, splits or tears.
- All the photos in this listing have been taken by myself and are of the actual items for sale.
