Description

In a world where even the most common Beatles records are thrown around as "Rare"... This is truly one of the rarest Beatles LPs in the world.
For those who don't know, in the UK, some of the very first copies of Revolver were accidentally mispressed with a very rare alternate version of Tomorrow Never Knows. These were available in shops very briefly for only part of the first day of release before they were replaced with the corrected versions. I've seen mint copies of this sell for four-figure prices in the past, most sell between 300-700 USD. Although most of these are still located in the UK, where they originate.
The alternate version of Tomorrow Never Knows is known for being longer than the "standard" mono mix as well as having different sound effects. This version has NOT been release anywhere since, on any format, and is unlikely that it will ever be made available to the music-buying public again - the only way to hear it really is to acquire the original LP or to have someone who already has one make a copy for you.

Collectors, families of collectors... THIS is the perfect gift for your loved ones for the holidays. Or just for yourself. It took me the longest to find this record out of all the Beatles records for my own personal collection. This is a second one that I have been lucky enough to come across and offer to collectors who have wished to own one, very possibly for much longer than I have.

Condition - sleeve is a bit scuffed and yellowing. Not perfect, but not terrible. VG. Comes with black inner. Very suitable for display.
The record has many light scratches and scuffs which do not affect the tracking ability of my cartridge. Record plays through but is a bit noisy. Not distorted, but there is a blanket of surface noise that is detectable during the music and more so during the silence between tracks. Also a handful of occasional pops. Solid VG- but still sounds really nice. The noise level can be reduced with a good cleansing, but I will leave this duty to the buyer. Label looks really nice, in all its yellow and black glory.

This pressing sounds the way only an all analog first pressing can, regardless of condition. Don't waste your money on the waste of plastic Beatles vinyl coming out later this year, or the shoddy counterfeits on colored vinyl that have flooded the market for the past 5 years - invest in true originals!

Just to clarify, this first -2/-1 pressing is one with a PMC code of 7009, and the following matrix numbers etched in the deadwax.
Side 1 - xex 605-2
Side 2 - xex 606-1
(there has yet to be discovered a pressing with -1/-1, all copies with -1 on side 2 are -2/-1 pressings. Both -1/-2 and -2/-2 pressings exist, as well as pressings with -3 on either or both sides, but only a pressing with -1 on side 2 will have the alternate version of tomorrow never knows).

Bidding is open to all bidders, including international bidders. Please message with any questions you may have. Make note that I don't do returns or refunds - All items sold AS IS.
