Description
First-day pressing of The Beatles’ 1966 LP ‘Revolver’ - Parlophone PMC 7009 in mono. This is the version with the side 2 matrix “XEX 606-1” with the alternate mix of the final track, ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’. It’s understood that this version was only pressed for one day.
Sleeve is in VG+ condition. Only a couple of light laminate creases to the front. There is almost no yellowing to the white parts of the sleeve. No shelf wear to the top or bottom edge. Opening mouth is sharp. Rear is very clean although there is light ringwear visible toward the left hand side. Spine is also clean and firm. The sleeve would rate as EX overall if not for the light ringwear.
The disc is in VG condition. Both sides are very clean and shiny with a few light marks here and there. Side one has only light sleeve wear and would grade EX. Side two has three marks – one of which is feelable across two tracks. In the audio below, the second song (“For No One”) is where this light scratch appears. As you can hear, there is almost no audible effect from the scratch. “Tomorrow Never Knows” is unaffected by any marks. The mark can be seen in the last photograph.
Side two label has light foxing. Both labels have almost no spindle wear – VG overall. XEX 605-2 / XEX 606-1 matrices. Mother / stampers are “1 A” and “2 RL”. Lined inner sleeve is in EX condition.
