-
“OH MY MY” by Ringo Starr
-
This is Apple Records P – 1872.
-
This record was issued in February of 1974.
-
This is a PROMOTIONAL SINGLE with the song in MONO on the A-side and STEREO on the B-side.
-
Both sides have a :28 Intro play time, but the STEREO side TOTAL play time is 3:39, while the MONO side TOTAL play time is edited to 3:15.
-
As you probably know, PROMOTIONAL RECORDS were ONLY released by record companies to the radio stations and DJs for on-air play. They were produced in very small/limited quantities and were NOT made available for sale to the general public; therefore, many promotional records are particularly hard-to-find these days and have become highly sought after by vinyl collectors and fans of certain recording artists/bands.
-
The labels have “NOT FOR SALE” printed on them.
-
It was pressed at Capitol’s Los Angeles Plant, as it has an asterisk (*), the LA Plant’s identifying symbol, in the trail-off on both sides.
-
The labels state that this song is “from the LP ‘RINGO’ SW AL 3413’”. Critics have agreed that Ringo Starr’s “Ringo” LP is outstanding and may, in fact, be his best solo LP.
-
The VINYL is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION with just a few very light/slight surface hairlines/scuffs. Often DJs wrote notes on stickers which they applied to the labels, or they wrote notes directly on the labels, but NOT THIS ONE! The LABELS are clean! The record has a VERY, and I repeat VERY SLIGHT WARP that does NOT affect play at all. I tracked the record on my Technics turntable at ½ gram, and it played absolutely fine. (I often see 7-inch 45 RPM records with a very slight warp like this one, and I typically don’t give a second thought as to how it will play/track, because experience has shown me that it’s not been an issue. But since this is a RINGO STARR APPLE PROMO RECORD, I did track it just to alleviate any concerns from potential bidders.)
-
This record comes with an APPLE RECORDS STOCK SLEEVE in NICE VG CONDITION. The sleeve has a “rounded top” indicating that it was issued 1973 to 1975; therefore, it would seem to be the correct Apple sleeve for this Apple record that was issued in 1974.
A NICE RINGO STARR APPLE PROMO RECORD for YOUR vinyl collection!!!
