THE BEATLES - 'RUBBER SOUL'
UK 1965 *STEREO* PRESSING
**ULTRA RARE 'STEREO' COVER LOGO**
Contrary to normal practise at the time, EMI omitted the usual mono and stereo cover logos from this release.
However, an extrememly limited number of covers were printed with black (and silver) stereo logos to the upper right corner.
These may have been for export purposes only as all copies I have seen were originally purchased outside the UK.
The thinner card used suggests these examples were not initial first pressings as all have contained '-3/-3' matrix discs.
N.B. This is a different copy to the one I sold on earlier this month.
This rare stereo variant copy is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3075
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Gramophone..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in the extremely rare front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' cover with the small black solid 'stereo' logo.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patent's Pending' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 178-3 & YEX 179-3
Stamper numbers: 2/GH & 2/GA
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
The front panel is bright and unfaded bearing some light creases to the spine and lower right corner and some small 'thumbnails' towards the opening.
There is a small (2.5cm) scratch to the laminate midway down the opening edge, but it is otherwise clean without tears or feathering.
The corners bear some light bruising but no major bumps.
The rear panel is clean and white with no age-discolouration, writing, marks or missing paper.
All 'flipbacks' are intact and undamaged and both seams are strong and unsplit.
The spine is intact, clean and readable with no missing paper or laminate.
Tough to find in any condition.

Visual: VERY GOOD
Clean surfaces bearing some surface marks which are mostly careless fingernail scuffs and sleeve removal marks visible under a halogen desk lamp.
There are no deep or 'feelable' marks or scratches. This very thick pressing lies 100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT MINUS
Warm, rich sound with a deep bass and no trace of any crackle or groovewear distortion on any track.
Apart from an occaisional very soft background 'tick' there is little to fault.
There are no loud clicks, hiss, jumps or repeats.
