READ THIS!

Sealed albums are non-returnable if they have been opened.  (That’s fair, isn’t it?)

Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles SEALED LP Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Early Pressing!

For obvious reasons, there’s no way to tell for sure which label variation this is.  However; there are certain forensics we can use, which will narrow the pool down.

**The top and bottom seams on the front and back covers have white borders.  This is significant.  These covers came from both the Los Angeles and Jacksonville plants between 1968 and 1970.  These years covered the black Capitol “Subsidiary of…” variations as well as the Apple with Capitol logo on side 2, the scarce Apple with “Mfd. By Apple Records, Inc.” disclaimer at the bottom of the side 2 label and the green Target labels.

**There’s a jagged punch hole in the top right corner.  We know that the Jacksonville plant did that for sure in 1968, in order to discount their remaining copies of Sgt. Pepper in mono.

**This is VERY significant if this copy is in fact, out of Jacksonville.  Collectors know that in 1968, the Jacksonville plant had accidentally pressed stereo copies of Sgt. Pepper with a defective W9 plate on side 2 of the black Capitol “Subsidiary of…”, as well as the Apple with Capitol logo in 1969, resulting in two highly sought-after pressings.

Could Jacksonville Capitol have also discounted those stereo copies, rather than destroying them?  Since the cover is appropriate, I have many, many times been tempted to slice this one open, but I’d hate it if I were wrong, having devalued a sealed copy.

**You can if you want.

Vinyl--- NM SEALED.

Plates--- NM SEALED.

Cover--- NM SEALED.  Nice, tight seal!

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the back cover.  The first one is a small, not fully-developed breathe hole that didn’t punch all the way through.  It’s located just below the jagged punch hole.  The other is due south, inside the lyrics for “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”

Labels--- NM SEALED.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- NM SEALED.

What a very cool Christmas gift for anyone, collector or not.  Someone’s jaw is about to drop when they pull this one out from under the tree this year!

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
