Beatles SEALED LP Yellow Submarine Apple Label, Probably a 1969 First Pressing!

For obvious reasons, there’s no way to tell for sure which Apple label variation this is.  However; there are certain forensics we can use, which will narrow the pool down.

**Back cover has a slick seam on three sides.  Later issues had no seam at all.

**Bottom of the back cover lists the pressing plants that were active at the time.  The list includes the Scranton plant, but excludes the Winchester, VA plant.

**This is significant, because the Winchester plant went online with pressing Beatles albums in mid-to late 1969.  The “Yellow Submarine” LP was released in January, 1969.

**Not only do we know that this is not a Winchester pressing, we also know that it was pressed sometime between January and the fall of 1969.

**Bottom of the back cover does not feature the Capitol logo from 1976.  So we know that this is an early Apple pressing.

**My best guess is that this copy is very likely a 1969 first pressing.

Vinyl--- NM SEALED.

Plates--- NM SEALED.

Cover--- NM SEALED.

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the back cover.  One is between the track titles in the track listing, “Sea of Monsters” and “March of the Meanies.”  The second one is due south in the bold print, on top of Paul’s name.

Labels--- NM SEALED.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- NM SEALED.

What a very cool Christmas gift for anyone, collector or not.  Someone’s jaw is about to drop when they pull this one out from under the tree this year!
