1967 Early Pressing SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND The Beatles Gatefold - Mono Capitol MAS 2653
This record is in VG/VG+ condition. The cover is VG.
This record was made during a time when rock musicians were testing the outer limits of what was possible in popular music by way of creative expression. Sgt. Pepper made many of the new ideas acceptable, including that of the "concept" album.
The record has scuffs, smudges and some fingerprints; it could use a cleaning. The label is an early rainbow circle label; this, and the fact that the record is mono indicates an early pressing.
The cover rates a VG: The gatefold inside has a well-preserved photo of the Beatles in their Sgt. Pepper uniforms. The arm of the gatefold with the single record is splitting on the top. The spine is intact with the title and number of the record on it. The outside back of the gatefold has the lyrics to the songs. It, and the front of the album have shelf wear, the back showing a clear record circle. There are no inserts for this album.
