WITH RARE WIDE SPINE VERY GLOSSY MONO SLEEVE, BRIGHT LABELS, SUPERB VINYL, GREAT AUDIO, TOTALLY COMPLETE, 100% ORIGINAL!
Summary:
No doubt, one of the ICONIC albums of the 20th Century, ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was released by EMI/Parlophone, UK on the 1st June 1967. It went straight to Number 1, and dominated the top position in the charts for 23 weeks!
Album Description and Condition:
RARE FIRST ISSUE **MONO** VINYL LP is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, ‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ printed to both sides of the SUPERB record labels labels.
Both record label are in Excellent Plus condition, bright labels with unfaded silver and yellow print, showing only a few light centre spindle lines.
Side 1 stamped matrix: XEX 637-1 and Side 2: XEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers: 4 RL and Side 2: 4 RT.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 1 record label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are also in Excellent Plus condition, bright Vinyl surfaces showing nothing more than light surface hairlines, none of which affect the play quality, there are NO deep scuffs or deep scratches.
Audio Quality:
The album plays great from beginning to end - A CLEAR, STRONG MONO sound quality with no skips or clicks, and hardly any background crackle.
The Vinyl Disc comes in it’s original Pink &White Made in Gt Britain flame inner bag printed ‘Made in Great Britain to the bottom right corner. The flame inner bag is inExcellent condition, there are no seam splits or tears, just some mild creasing.
Also included is an ORIGINAL First Issue CARD Sgt Pepper Cut-Out, which is in SUPERB, UNDAMAGED Mint Minus condition.
Tucked inside the sleeve was an original 19th May1967, Daily Express newspaper pre-release article for the forthcoming release of this album, an interesting artical.
…..And is protected in it’s ORIGINAL First Issue RARE WIDER SPINE Fully Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip back GATEFOLD Sleeve correctly printed ‘PMC 7027 Mono’ to the reverse.
The front, back, and inner gatefold part of the sleeve are all in superb Excellent Plus condition. The sleeve still retains its high GLOSS laminate to the front, inner gatefold and reverse, with NO fading to the DEEP VIVID colors, and only minimal record indentation to the front panel, and a couple of tiny corner bumps.
The top and bottom edges of the reverse section of the sleeve have suffered splits, this was obviously caused by the vinyl disc rubbing through the sleeve, both splits are approx 1.5” wide, i have taken scans of the edge damage, the damage to the edges looks a worse in the scans than it really is,(see scans below).
The WIDE spine edge is white, firm and undamaged, and clearly reads 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.
Other than the damage to the two edges, this is a superb example, 100% ORIGINAL and COMPLETE of this RARE WIDER SPINE VARIANT MONO Album!
