Description
BEATLES "SOMETHING NEW" MONO LP - COMPLETELY SEALED IN THE ORIGINAL, TIGHT SHRINK WITH NO RIPS. THE BLUE CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE IS VISIBLE INSIDE THE LP. THE ORIGINAL PRICE STICKER IS STILL ON THE FRONT COVER & THERE IS NO RIAA # WHICH INDICATES THAT THIS IS A TRUE FIRST PRESSING LP. LATER PRESSINGS OF THIS LP INCLUDED AN RIAA #
While this LP was titled "Something New" it was actually anything but - most of the songs were previously released as singles or were on the LP "A Hard Day's Night." In terms of first pressing sales, that caused this to be The Beatles weakest selling LP - most Beatles fans already had nearly all the songs that were on the album. Because of that, it is one of the rarest and most collectible LP's in the first pressing mono format.
The condition of this sealed album is excellent. The outside corners are very slightly bent (about a quarter inch) and the vinyl outline (not ringwear) is slightly visible upon close inspection. The seal is tight all around with no tears. I do not see any breath holes - this may be how these first records were packed - and there are a couple of tiny brown marks (may not even be visible in the photo) on the very top of the LP, probably caused by a little trapped air condensation from when the LP was originally sealed - that's why they started using breath holes on later LP's. As you can see in the photos, the cover is virtually perfect - pure white on the back with flawless seams and spine.
