My Kool Kollectibles is proud to present this LP from the Beatles and Capitol Records entitled Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (SMAS-2653). This was a later pressing from 1968 as it features the "Subsidiary perimeter print on the record label". The record would grade a VG+...a few visible lines, plays great! Still very clean and shiny. The cover is in VG+ condition. No tears. Tiny spit near the openings on seam. Contains the green cut-outs. By this pressing, the custom red inner sleeve had been discontinued. What makes this record so special however, is that it contains a rare pressing error on the song "Good Morning, Good Morning". It originates from a very limited run with a defective stamper made by the Jacksonville factory from the "W9" master that has a noticeable drop-out in one of the channels during the majority of the song.

The stamper used for this batch contained an incorrect mix of "Good Morning, Good Morning," which somewhat resembles the more sparse version that can be heard on the Beatles Anthology 2 release from 1996. Backing vocals and horns are heard only for the first few seconds, then shut off abruptly, and never return in the mix. Furthermore, the animal sounds at the end are quite different.This mistake was quickly corrected, and doesn't seem to have been repeated on any other pressing, anywhere in the world. Although this is merely a pressing error and not a different mix of the song, some collectors have sought out this oddity, thus leading to a premium for this error pressing. It's featured in Perry Cox's Price Guide for The Beatles American Records (2007) on page 149 for more details if you own this indispensable price guide. I have pictured the "W9" in the trail-off area. I'm offering this at a reasonable price...it's listed at $700 MINT.
