Description

MEGA RARE - Beatles Sgt. Pepper Original 1967 Mispressing - SIDE 1 IN STEREO . Condition is Used. Dispatched with Royal Mail 1st Class.

Record - VG+ sounds lovely, though has some slight noise in places, I think this record would benefit greatly from a good cleaning Has some small sleeve removal marks and one or two scuffs but these do not affect play whatsoever, record still has a lovely shine to it

Cover VG+, it's in very nice shape, spine is nice and clear, some marks here and there and general age related wear but this one has held up well!
Included is the original set of cut outs, untouched but there is NO red flame inner unfortunately :(

Up for sale is a mega rare pressing of an original 1967 UK B&Y Parlophone pressing of The Beatles' most famous work, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
When this specific record was pressed, it was supposed to be pressed using the mono mix of the album on both sides, and so it has the original PMC 7027 first press labels on both sides, also with a "SOLD IN.U.K." error in the label on side 1 which occurs occasionally with these pressings, however there was a very big mistake made at the pressing plant when this record was pressed. Instead of having the mono mix on both sides, this records side 1 is in stereo! Somehow one day in the pressing plant a stereo metal part was used to press side 1 by mistake, these metal parts only pressed around 1000 records before needing to replaced so it's easy to say there's not many of this specific variation out there, let alone many left in this condition!
The matrix numbers verify these claims, as can be seen in the photos
Side 1 YEX 637-1 (YEX means stereo, the -1 also indicates tube cutting, both sides of this LP are tube cut) Side 2 XEX 638-1 (XEX means mono, both sides of this record should have had XEX matrix numbers, hence this being a mispress)
This record is a beautiful and enjoyable listen, it was tested on a Pioneer PL-12D with an Audio Technica AT95E cartridge, I also tested side 2 with my Audio Technica VM610 mono cartridge and it sounded even more beautiful
If there's anything I've mistakenly forgot to mention in the description, please feel free to send me a message and ask questions, I'm more than happy to answer them :)
Postage will be Royal Mail First Class Signed For, mainland UK only - no international postage
No low feedback bids please :)
Happy bidding!
