'SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
1967 UK 1st PRESSING MONO LP
****FOURTH PROOF SLEEVE****
Not originally intended for public release, 'Fourth Proof' sleeves were used to house very first copies of the LP.
This is such a copy which carries the code 'AR D13217' and 'Fourth Proof' printed on the inner gatefold's upper flipback.
The rear of the sleeve also carries the 'Patents Pending' wording.
The disc itself is a 1967 mono first pressing on the UK yellow and black Parlophone label PMC 7027
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Gramophone..' rim texts
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side two on either label
Complete with red & white inner sleeve (VG with a small side split) and cut-out sheet (NM).
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper numbers: 1/RMD & 8/RMA
CONDITION
Sleeve: VERY GOOD PLUS
A respectable example of this rare 'fourth proof' sleeve showing general handling and storage wear with no major faults.The front image is slightly offset giving it a blurred appearance but after all it was only a proof sleeve.
The spine is slightly worn, but the wording is still readable
The inside of the sleeve is superb and as elsewhere, there is no marking or writing visible.
Disc
Visual: VERY GOOD PLUS Clean and bright surfaces showing a few light hairlines but no serious marks.
100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD
Played many times and light 'crackle' is audible throughout but there are NO clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.Labels:
