DESCRIPTION: Beatles LP- Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. MONO. In fully laminated (inside and out) G&L gatefold sleeve with visible flaps. With cut out insert and red/white inner sleeve with made in great britain and patents applied for text. 1st UK press with B&Y parlophone labels with the gramophone co and sold in UK. Matrix numbers XEX 637-1/ 638-1. LABEL AND CATALOGUE NUMBER: Parlophone PMC 7027 YEAR OF RELEASE: 1967 original COUNTRY OF RELEASE: UK CONDITION (VINYL/COVER): G/G+. Vinyl is clean with a decent sheen and quite a few hairlines/ brushing marks. Played almost in its entirety tonight on my Pro-ject deck. Sits perfectly flat on the turntable. Sounds very good. Generally clear and loud with decent seperation. Some light background sound (mainly confined to parts of Side 2 particularly When Im 64", as usual!) and some ticks/clicks (again mainly side 2). Cover is firm and square with decent shape and has moderate edgewear (apart from spine which has heavy wear to centre), moderate cornerwear and creasing. Inside of gatefold is very clean. There are a couple of "chips" out of laminate- on the rear cover a couple of them have been (pretty discretely) shaded in with red marker by the look of it. Clean labels with light to moderate spindlewear. Insert is near EX, firm and square with only very light wear. Red/white inner retains decent shape and is a very decent VG with only a very small tear to opening edge and , unusually, no splits. These are usually shredded! . Overall no writing, stickers or sticker tears. Anyway, no one saying its mint or even EX but it is what it is- A complete clean and decent playing 1st UK pressing of one of the best LPs ever.. Grading system: I use UK’s “Record Collector” Grading System but please note that GRADINGS ARE VISUAL ONLY UNLESS STATED. You are likely to get some background noise , even if its just between the tracks on 30-40 year old vinyl records!! :: MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface mark or deterioration in the sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in the sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover, or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable. GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound has noticably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration etc. I will at times use a + or - to indicate when a record falls between the grades. I REMOVE ALL VINYL FROM SLEEVES PRIOR TO POSTING. RECORDS ARE SENT IN BEST QUALITY MAILERS WITH 2 STIFFENERS.
