The greatest rock album ever made (according to many surveys, and I'll go along with that) in its first mono country of origin issue.
Original 1965 Uk Beatles Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band PMC 7027 1st press Yellow & Black labels, matrices to both sides ending with 1/1 lowest first issue stampers. Insert of the unused pristine cut out is present and the inner sleeve with red to white pattern also here with split bottom edge.
Some fine scuffs to this, there are no skips in the playback on a stereo MM cart tracking at 1.6 grams, this played fully excellent, in clear and pleasing sound, revealing low in the mix effects for the first time, as I was listening very carefully for defects just a few instances of surface noise in some of the quietest passages. With a good ortofon mono cart this was even quieter. I had one closer to near mint visually that played with more background than this, as I assume that one had had more spins on the turntable, probably on low quality equipment. None of the marks are feelable, and the lp is housed in a vintage EMI tissue lined sleeve.
Garrod & Lofthouse Sleeve has the flips to the top edge of the inside of the gatefold, and is fully laminated. There are no splits, bends, pen or other damage except a very small spine rub at the base corner. . If you own a later pressing of this, you will hear the difference. This 1st off the presses when the master tapes were brand new will be superior in every way. A great example of a great lp.
