Description
The Beatles “Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band”. Parlophone PMC 7027. Mono LP. Garrod & Lofthouse cover (visible flaps) with original cardboard insert (unused) and red and white record sleeve.
Given matrix numbers XEX 637-1 and XEX 638-2, the “Sold in the U.K.” across the label, the cover having a wide spine and the positioning of “The Gramophone Company” I believe this to be a first pressing?
An iconic record and famous cover.
Condition:
Cover : This is in excellent used condition with no major defects. There is some slight creasing of the laminate in places as is usual through normal use. The red/white sleeve is split across its bottom edge but otherwise is intact. The wider than later copies' spine is in excellent condition – there is some but very minor wear at the corners and record entry edges.
Record : Visually excellent with some marks and surface hairlines etc. There are two small stylus drop scratches at the start of sides 1 and 2. They both sound and affect the music for 6 or so revolutions. Otherwise it plays superbly with no other obvious defects.
