Up for auction is The Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on Mobile Fidelity MFSL MoFi 'Original Master Recording' UHQR 33 RPM 180g vinyl, limited edition serial #2056 of 5000. This is from MFSL's premium pressing UHQR series on JVC Super Vinyl, catalog #MFQR 1-100 released in 1982. This UHQR of Sgt. Pepper's is considered one of the holy grail versions of the classic Beatles album, it sounds amazing. *** this is a revised relist of an earlier auction to correctly put playtest notes in with an updated VG+ vinyl rating, apologies for any inconvenience ***
Vinyl has been fully play tested and ultrasonically cleaned with a Degritter, there are just a few minor tics and pops infrequently across the album but almost all the album background noise level is very quiet, am rating it conservatively as VG+. The vinyl surface itself is beautiful with no scuffs or scratches. The box and contents are in very nice shape for their age, I've included pics of all four corners, sides and the content, which besides the vinyl record includes a Technical Specifications Manual, Certificate of Authenticity, two pieces of foam insert, and their typical UHQR three layers of sleeves (main cardboard outer sleeve, inner white cardboard sleeve, inner rice paper sleeve). There is even an original price label from 'Turtles' record store that the original owner taped loosely to the top of the Certificate of Authenticity. There is some visible wear on the edges of the bottom cover of the box, and there is a little bit aging wear here and there on the sides and corner of the top cover of the UHQR box. There is also a small 1" seam split on the top edge of the main outer cardboard sleeve, and some glue separation on the bottom edge of that same sleeve. Please see pics for details.
This record will be extremely carefully wrapped and boxed with the vinyl ultrasonically cleaned and placed in an additional poly sleeve outside of the original inner cardboard sleeves. Record will be shipped insured in the US via Fedex Ground, shipping cost of $10.00 for the lower 48 US states, additional shipping charges for other destinations to be calculated at end of auction.
