Description
The Beatles - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - 1967 Capitol Records EMI # SMAS-2653. This press is the assumed Capitol Rainbow Band possibly 2nd press or slightly there after. Original presses have no mention of NEMS Enterprise Ltd on the cover, this copy only has NEMS on the title spine, drifting over onto the back cover. The plastic seal is about 50% open on the insert spine. By prying into the insert spine I can see the original Red Smoke Inner Sleeve and an extra folded insert (assumed to be the poster). There is also another paper on the other side of the Red Sleeve. This is assumed to be the extra inserts with the early pressings. Please look at pictures 6 and 8 for a look into the gatefold and insert spine. The entire package seems very heavy in comparison with all other copies I have of this LP. I have an original first press with poster and red smoke sleeve that is open, and this sealed copy feels way heavier than that one. There are no Plant Pressing Number indicators anywhere on the cover, and no RIAA stamps. I would really like to think this is the original 2nd pressing with the Red Inner Sleeve and Colored Caiptol Rainbow Band on Label, but this might be a Green Apple Label. Either way it is most definitely a heavier pressing. The buyer assumes risk of which Label is on the LP, I will not accept returns for an opened LP or broken plastic further than the 50% opening you can see into. Buyer assumes risk. Caiptol used the NEMs covers until 1975 so it can be a Green Apple Label too. I don't know if the Red Smoke Sleeve was used with the Green Labels, so chances are this is the Colorband Label.
DISC: MINT - assumed mint and in untouched shape. 50% partial opening to the insert spine, but rest assured no hand has ever touched the disc. Just air has gone in the insert. The rest of the plastic is very tightly sealed around the LP.
COVER: EX+ or better with very tight shrink wrap on the rest of the LP's cover. A 50% opening on insert side plastic. A picture was taken on what posters and inserts you can see into the insert without further opening the LP. I found this LP with the 50% opening. I will not accept returns if someone opens the gate more to get a better look at the LP. NEMS is mentioned on the side of title spine drifting onto the back cover. Please see all extra pictures to help identify the press and run number. Capitol is notorious for using early covers with later pressed Labels. Please be aware of this, buyer assumes risk of what color the label is on the LP.
