Description

Hi Beatles fans, this is a very unusual pressing of the all time classic, Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.  This is a 1967 pressing, with red EMI label, with catalogue number PCSJ 7027 and matrix/run out numbers: PCSJ.7027 YEX.637 & PCSJ.7027 YEX.638.  There doesn't appear to be much info on this release online.
This does not appear to be a South African pressing, but looks like it is rather a Rhodesian/Zimbabwe pressing.  The big giveaway being the cover - which is made of a matt, rough cardboard, without any laminate - which was unique to the Rhodesian pressing plant at the time.  There is no sign of the standard Artone, or Interpak logos, which suggests that the cover was not made in South Africa (as these were the only 2 manufacturers at the time.).  Unlike the SA pressings at the time, this does not have a Parlophone label, but instead a red EMI label which is also indicative of it being from Rhodesia/Zimbabwe.  It's a tricky one with not much info being available, but of the collectors I've discussed this with, it looks like it is from the Southern African region, but not from South Africa itself.
The vinyl is in great condition - VG+, and so is the cover, a definite VG+.
Playtested on SL1200 with Ortofon 2M Red Cart.
