THE BEATLES - 'SGT. PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
This wonderful sounding 1st UK MONO pressing of their legendary album dates from initial June 1967 release.
Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK....' text & 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd...' worded rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper codes: 1/GGD & 7/GHO
Vinyl weight: 158g
Housed in a fully laminated, inner-flipover 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover with a 'regular' width spine.
Complete with its original red & white 'The Fool' designed inner-sleeve & unused dark-green cut-out sheet.

A 1st-class set with just a few well-aimed well-aimed spindle trails around each undamaged centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Immaculate deep-gloss playing surfaces are totally unmarked when viewed strong daylight. Even closer inspection directly beneath my powerful and unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals little more than a few faint wispy inner-sleeve removal paper hairlines & a sparkling rainbow shine. Both sides of this extremely well looked-after copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: NEAR MINT
This wonderful sounding copy has received just a handful of careful plays on high-end equipment and as a result the sound quality is clean, warm & wonderful throughout. My single careful play-check at volume detected no trace of any groove/playwear on any track or either channel - even on the easily and most frequently worn 'She's Leaving Home'. You will not be disappointed with this fine copy which would be tough to upgrade.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
The front panel is perfectly clean & unfaded with a fully intact high-gloss laminate bearing just a single small wrinkle towards the lower right but no 'thumbnail' wrinkles or heavy spine bends. There is some light shelfwear to the lower two corners but the upper two are unworn as are all of the opening edges.
The inside of the gatefold is immaculate with no wear to any part. Even the easily worn upper fold-over flaps are fully intact.
The rear panel is as clean & glossy as the front bearing two 'thumbnail' wrinkles towards the opening edge but all seams of both pockets are smooth & unstressed with no missing or flaking laminate.
The spine is clean & fully laminated along its entire length with an intact readable text.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +
Clean & flat with no yellowing to the white areas, just an unavoidable light disc impression from storage. There is no writing, tears or splits to any seam.
