This early UK 1st STEREO pressing dates from initial June 1967 release on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 7027
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text with 'The Gramophone Co...' rim texts
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label
Earliest possible matrix numbers: YEX 637-1 & YEX 638-1

Housed within a fully laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo gatefold cover with 9mm 'wide' spine

A fine unblemished pair bearing a small number of barely visible spindle trails around each totally unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Immaculate factory-fresh, deep-gloss playing surfaces which are unmarked and 'as new' in strong daylight. Even close examination beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines from the few times this disc has been removed from its inner. No upgrade required.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT -
This respectable sounding copy without any major deterioration to the sound quality. My playcheck detected some light background during the quieter passages (most notably on 'She's Leaving Home'), but no clicks, ticks, pops or any other audible distractions on this well looked after copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A fine example of this early-type cover which retains a richly coloured, unfaded front panel where three small 'thumbnail' wrinkles towards the front opening edge are the only significant traces of wear.
There is slight wear to the upper left and lower right corners but the opening edges of both pockets are straight & sharp
Both panels inside the gatefold are clean & unworn with no missing paper or wear to the upper flipbacks
The rear panel is unworn with no 'thumbnails', ringwear or even any spine bends
The upper & lower seams of both pockets are smooth, unstressed & unsplit
The spine is square, uncrushed and unbent with a fully laminate and perfect text
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Clean & unblemished with just a few gentle storage bends.
Cut-out sheet: EXCELLENT +
