THE BEATLES - 'SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'
1968 UK *MONO* PRESSING* LP
This UK MONO mispressing dates from 1968 and is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & have 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
The side 2 label OMITS the 'Day In The Life' title from the track-listing.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 2 centre hole.
Housed in a correct fully laminated, inner-flipback mono gatefold cover with a regular width spine.
Complete with its original 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve & MINT/unused cut-out sheet.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1

Labels: VERY GOOD +
Both are clean & bright but have numerous spindle trails and slight touch-up around the side 2 centre hole with just a small collection of wayward spindle trails on label 1.
Visual: VERY GOOD -
Clean & bright playing surfaces which in strong daylight display several light scratches but nothing deep or heavy. Close examination directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals numerous light marks and wispy hairlines consistent with frequent play, but no major blemishes. Both sides lie 100% flat when playing.
Play: VERY GOOD
This copy has been played many times but is without any major deterioration to the sound quality or faults. Some background wear is audible on the opening track and during some of the quieter passages on side 1. There is some moderate background noise on 'She's Leaving Home' and several light clicks at the end of track 2 and into track 3. Side 2 plays slightly better with the only significant distraction being a few dull clicks on the introduction to the first track. There are no jumps, repeats or any other major audible faults anywhere.
Cover
EXCELLENT
An extremely vibrant & well-preserved example of this iconic cover which retains a perfectly clean, undamaged & unscratched high-gloss front panel laminate with just a single 'thumbnail' wrinkles towards the front opening edge. There is minor storagewear to the corners but no heavy bumps or wear to any. There are a few tiny pushes to the opening edges but no tears or feathering to any. The inside of the gatefold is 'as new' with no wear or missing paper to flipbacks edge and has but has clearly been rarely opened. The rear panel is as vivid & vibrant as the front but with no 'thumbnails' or ring-wear - just a handful of tiny spine bends. There is slight wear to the spine wording but all seams of both pockets are unstressed & unsplit.
