1971 UK '2-EMI-BOX' STEREO PRESSING LP
**NEAR MINT**
My listings this week include 8 MINT/NEAR MINT Beatles LPs dating from 1969-1971. Unfairly cast as the poor relation to the yellow & black pressings, these 1 and 2 'EMI box' labels are analogue cuts and in most cases bear the same matrices as the 1st pressings. These particular copies were originally exported to the U.S.A and purchased there in late 1971 (which explains the shrinkwrapping). All are outstanding examples and represent a rare opportunity to acquire 'as new' audiophile quality copies of these titles which are unlikely to surface in this condition again for a long time.
This true NEAR MINT UK 1971 stereo pressing is on the black & silver '2-EMI-Box' label: PCS 7027
Both labels have 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
Housed in a fully laminated, inner-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse printed 'Patents Pending' gatefold stereo cover.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patent No. 1,125,555 inner-sleeve & unsused cut-out sheet.
The cover still retains its original shrinkwrapping.
Matrix numbers: YEX 637-1 & YEX 638-2
N.B. The side 2 of this '-2' cut has more banded appearance compared to a '-1' copy.
Also, the composition of the repeating run-out is also significantly different.

A pristine set with just a single tiny spindle trail to the hole on the side 2 label but none on side 1.
Visual: MINT
Both surfaces of this immaculate copy are totally unmarked and 'as new' in both strong daylight AND directly beneath my halogen desk lamp.
Both sides 100% flat on the turntable with no signs or dishing or warping.
Audio: NEAR MINT
This pristine copy has received just a single, careful play on side 1 but the sound is perfect throughout with no perceptible traces of any audible wear.
Both run-ins and all bands are silent and there are no clicks, pops or other intereference throughout.
You will not require another copy of this pressing.
Cover: NEAR MINT
This exquisite, 'shop condition' cover remains in the same condition as the day it was bought.
The shrinkwrapping has contracted slightly but is still intact all-round. Apart from a small bump to the upper right corner, this is in MINT condition.
Cut-out: NEAR MINT
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Slight crease to the upper left area from storage but other faults or wear.
