Description
Presented is "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band." This is a U.K. issue on the Parlophone label, PMC-7027. This is a first pressing issued in 1967.
This example of this groundbreaking album features the rarest known cover for this unique album! This is the last of four pre-production sleeves for the Pepper's album and is known as the "Fourth Proof" sleeve. The Beatles themselves settled on this final version for release. As a prototype this Fourth Proof was never meant to be released to the public, however a very small number were. To this day the exact number is unclear. Estimates range from 50 to just 300 or 400!

Listed below are the pertinent details of this incredible Beatles collectible.
1. The words Fourth Proof are printed on the top flip-back of the inner gate fold of the sleeve.
2. The letters A R and D 1321 also appear at the inner flip-back of the sleeve.
3. Printed at the lower back of the sleeve are the words, "Printed And Made By Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd. Patents Pending." (a very small number of the Pepper sleeves include the Patents Pending information)
4. George's jacket appears as a Pink color, but on the standard sleeves it appears to be Red.
5. The vinyl: The K T code is present in raised letters near the spindle hole.
6. The matrix numbers in the dead wax are 637-1 and 638-1.

This record has been fully play graded: Weak VG, with light surface sound.
VG- Surface with some superficial scuffs and scratches.
Labels: VG+, with some wispy spindle marks.
