The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

(Parlophone PMC 7027 UK LP 1967)

This is a UK original Mono LP pressing. It has a fully laminated gatefold sleeve which has inner flipbacks at the top edges. It comes with its original "Psychedelic" red & white inner sleeve. This is printed on paper. It has the "Patents Applied For" text. It comes with its original Cut-Out Insert. This is printed on card.

The record is pressed on thick vinyl & has yellow & black "Parlophone" labels. These have "The Gramophone Co..." and "Sold in UK..." texts. The "KT" tax code is embossed around the spindle hole on Side 1. The record has 1st press XEX 637-1 and XEX 638-1 matrix numbers. The mother stampers are RRL 2 and PM 2 respectively. A genuine UK Mono 1st pressing complete with the Psychedelic Inner Sleeve & "cut-out" Insert.

Gatefold Sleeve: There is mild to more moderate rubbing wear to the corner tips, There is some mild, very mild or more moderate rubbing wear on the front sleeve opening edge (see photo). There is light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the rear sleeve opening edges. The spine is fairly nice overall, The spine text is clearly legible. There are a few light laminate creases. These are mainly very small. There is a mild 12 cm stain that runs along the top flipback on the left hand side (see photo). This is only on the inner gatefold. There is some light, mild or very mild ringwear on some areas. Overall, Very Good condition.

Vinyl: There are mild, very mild or more moderate sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. There are a few areas of moderate sleeve rubs too. There is an arched 6 cm hairline surface mark on Side 2. The inner sleeve, over time, has left some light, mild or more moderate dull surface marks on some areas. These, again, can only be seen under a strong light. There are a couple of very small hairline surface marks. These measure from 1 cm to 2 cm in length. Overall, Good+ condition. The labels are in Near Excellent condition & show mild spindle wear only.

I have fully play tested this LP & it plays Very Good+ to Near Excellent overall. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places. There are a couple of mild clicks on "Fixing A Hole" on Side 1. There are a few light or very mild clicks on "When I'm 64" on Side 2. Overall, a very reasonable audio copy.

The card "cut-out" insert is in Very Good++ condition. It shows some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the edges on some areas. There is a light crease in one corner tip area.

The custom "Psychedelic" Inner Sleeve is in Very Good+ condition. There is some light, mild or very mild foxing and staining on some areas (see photo). There is light, mild or more moderate ringwear. There is some light, mild or very mild rubbing wear on the top opening edges on some areas. There are no seam splits. Overall, a fairly decent copy. I shall place the vinyl in a separate plain paper inner sleeve to protect the original inner sleeve from any damage during the transit process.
