Description
The Beatles - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band
(Parlophone PMC 7027 UK LP 1967)
This is a UK original Mono LP pressing. It has a fully laminated gatefold sleeve which has inner flipbacks (Garrod & Lofthouse). It comes with its original custom psychedelic inner sleeve. This has the "Patents Applied For" text. It also comes with the card "cut-out" insert.
The record has black & yellow Parlophone labels. They have "The Gramophone Co..." & "Sold in UK..." texts. The matrix numbers are: XEX 637-1 and XEX 638-1. The mother stampers are ADM 3 7 and RMM 9. A genuine UK 1st Mono pressing.
Gatefold Sleeve: There is some mild to more moderate rubbing wear, & staining, to the spine. There is some mild rubbing wear to the corner tips too. There are some light laminate creases. Otherwise the sleeve is very nice & clean. VG+ condition.
Vinyl: Side 1 shows mild to more moderate sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light, & a couple of light marks. It is in VG+ condition. Side 2 shows mild to more moderate sleeve rubs & about 5 light marks. They vary in size from 0.5 cm to 4 cm in size. It is in VG- condition. Overall the LP grades. VG condition. The labels are nice and clean & show mild spindle wear only. Plays VG+ to Near Excellent overall. There is some light, or very mild, crackle in a few quieter passages. Overall a very reasonable sounding copy.
The Psychedelic Inner Sleeve has a mild 7 cm seam split at the centre bottom only. There is some mild fading & creasing. It is in VG condition. The card insert is in Near EX condition. There is some very light creasing in a couple of places.
The vinyl will be placed in a separate plain paper inner sleeve. This will protect the psychedelic inner sleeve during transit.
Grading adheres to “Record Collector” specifications. I shall use good quality packaging (proper vinyl mailers & two card dividers).
