Description
Hello, I am a long-time eBay seller - since October, 1999. I have a 100% feedback record, so bid and buy with confidence. I have collected records for many years and every record I offer comes from my personal collection. The grade I specify for the vinyl is based upon a playback as well as a visual inspection. The grade I assign for the cover and inserts (if any) is based upon a close visual inspection.
For sale today is a very rare black label Record Club edition of the Beatles Something New album released in 1968. Record Club issues for this album are rare in general, and the copy here, issued on the black label is earlier and more rare than the later Record Club issue on the green label. You can tell it is a rare Record Club edition by the three stripes on the front upper left corner of the cover and by the number "8" in the record number prefix on the cover and on the label (see photos).
As to condition, both the vinyl and the outer cover are in is in Near Mint condition. The vinyl looks and plays like it was pressed yesterday. It sparkles and shines. I only played it one time after I purchased it to ensure its quality, and the sound is amazing. Full, clear and crisp. Simply stated, the record plays perfectly - flat, no warps, no skips, no sticks. The labels are similarly in Near Mint condition. The outer cover sleeve is in the same Near Mint condition. Extraordinary to find both vinyl and cover in such great shape.
I purchased this very rare issue from renowned Beatles seller and author Perry Cox many years ago. At the time of purchase, Mr. Cox graded it Near Mint, and I fully agree with him. As stated, I have played it only one time, and since then have carefully stored it in my smoke-free home. Interestingly, I see that Mr. Cox very recently sold another fine example of this black Record Club issue of Something New on eBay and it went for over $1100 - a testament to its rarity and value in today's Beatles vinyl collecting universe (see eBay seller "PerryCox" and search for this item sold on 9/19/20).
Since I purchased this album, I have carefully stored the vinyl in an archival inner sleeve, which I then placed in a hard generic outer sleeve in order to best protect both the vinyl and the original outer sleeve. The album will be shipped in these protective sleeves (along with the original outer sleeve, of course).
The album will be sent via first class US mail.
