"The Beatles Box" is an eight-record box set of Beatles recordings. It is heavy weighing almost 2KG. It was initially released on 3 November 1980 by World Records, a mail-order subsidiary of EMI. It was never commercially released in the United Kingdom being sold ONLY by mail order from World Records The set consisted of 124 Beatles tracks arranged chronologically from Love Me Do, the group's first Parlophone single, to Her Majesty, the final cut on Abbey Road. All albums were issued on the EMI/Parlophone label.  The eight individual LPs were untitled just numbered. Each sleeve featured a previously unpublished colour photo of The Beatles on the front and then extensive liner notes on the rear detailing their career during the period represented by that album's songs.
THIS IS A STUNNING MINT 8 LP BOX SET WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN PLAYED ! IT IS AS MINT AS YOU COULD EVER FIND AND IS ALMOST AS NEW AS THE DAY IT ARRIVED. IT WAS ONLY EVER AVAILABLE BY MAIL ORDER, NEVER ON SALE IN THE SHOPS.
This Box Set has been in my possession since November 1980 ! ! It was bought by myself to be a Christmas gift for someone a month later but sadly that never happened. So I hung onto it.  I already had all the music on the albums so I had no need to open it and play them. However I have only recently come to understand that some tracks are quite different. I have listed all the track differences that I have discovered below.
Track Differences:- Record 1. Love Me Do - Version 1 with Ringo on drums - the rare version. Thank You Girl - the original mono version without John's extra harmonica fills. All My Loving - begins with five taps on Ringo's "hi-hat" cymbal.
Record 2. This Boy - the mono version. And I Love Her - contains six bars of acoustic guitar in the fadeout instead of the usual four. She's A Woman - the true stereo version previously available just in Australia and in Singapore/Malaysia/Hong Kong. I Feel Fine - the true stereo version that begins with tapping drum sticks, whispering, coughing and Ringo closing his "hi-hat" cymbal.
Record 5. I'm Only Sleeping - the extremely rare version with the slightly delayed guitar solo, previously found just on the U.S. stereo eight-track tape edition of "Yesterday And Today". Penny Lane - the composite version from the U.S. album "Rarities". Strawberry Fields Forever - the true stereo version.
Record 6. All You Need Is Love - the mono version. Baby You're A Rich Man - the true stereo version, previously found just on the German "Magical Mystery Tour" LP. I Am The Walrus - the composite version put together by Capitol Records for the U.S. album "Rarities".
Record 7. The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill - appears as it does on "The Beatles" ("aka White Album"), minus the opening guitar.
Record 8. Get Back - the album version, produced by Phil Spector. Across The Universe - Version 2 produced by Phil Spector.  The End/Her Majesty - the pause between the two songs lasts for only five seconds. On Abbey Road the time between tracks is fifteen seconds.



So the records have been removed on a couple of occasions to check them on delivery and for this auction. The vinyl discs are MINT UN-PLAYED. The inner sleeves are MINT. The outer sleeves are MINT - they have been only been handled for the reading of the liner notes and disc removal. The box itself is NEAR MINT. It is firm and almost like new but the 40 year-old cardboard hinge at the top has worn a little.
I highly doubt that you will ever find a better example of this rare mail-order item

All Records are cleaned and some are play graded when possible. I use a Thorens TD 160B MarkII for play grading I cannot play grade every item.
