The Beatles

*****THE RARE 33 1/3*****

Well, we all know how rare these pressings are...But to find one in this condition is unheard of! Barely played! Well looked after....WOW

This Mono version of Please Please Me was the very limited pressing transition from the Black and Gold labels, over to the now more common Parlophone yellow logo. However, in the cross-over, the true THIRD pressings of this album carried the extra "331/3" next to the matrix number on the label, at the 9 O'clock position.

This error was quickly spotted and pressings with this extra 331/3 we quickly halted...Thus only a very few survived...And even fewer in this condition!!!!

Catalogue Number: PMC 1202

Matrix Numbers:

Side 1: XEX 421-1N

Side 2: XEX 422-1N

Mothers/Stampers:

Side 1: 1 PM

Side 2: 1 RR

How early are they??!!!??!!

The all important condition:

Vinyl: NEAR MINT!!! Yep, it really is that good! Only the very faintest of marks, purely due from taking the record out of the sleeve and replacing immediately after play...SUUUUUPPPPEEERRBBB!

Flat, Flat, FLAT and lovely and heavy too. One go on a cleaner, just to get any specks of dust out of the grooves and it's close to brand new!

I have just finished listening to the record and what a joy it was...Lovely and clear playback, with only the faintest background noise..simply due to dust....WOW!!!

Cover: VG+ It is THE ORIGINAL cover and not swapped out. It has the Angus McBean credit in the very bottom right corner as well as the larger MONO to the top right. The down side to the cover is a water stain of 12cm to the front and around equal size to the back...But not very wide as it is near the opening. The corners also have some wear and some small areas laminate are missing, to the bottom spine. The final 'bad' point is a missing 3cm piece of the flipback to the top right on the back.

EXCELLENT strong and clear spine, with a small 3.5cm area to the flipback where water has stained it.

It still has quite a bright white back and DOES NOT have any writing or splits....I have been slightly over critical as it is still a solid piece.

Labels: The all important "331/3" labels.....NEAR MINT! Yep...Gorgeous! After looking very carefully at the central hole, I only see the slightest hint of spindle wear...quite difficult to see. NO hole wear at all!

"M T" tax code, raised, on side two. There is just one very faint scuff marks of around 5mm to side 1...only seen if really looking for it. IT REALLY IS THE BEST EXAMPLE OF THIS RARE LABEL YOU WILL SEE FOR A VERY LONG TIME

Inner: Near Mint....ORIGINAL "Use Emitex" inner...with just some creasing...THAT IS ALL...It even has the original white colour, without fading to the brownish colour we so often see. A real beaut!

All in all...She plays superbly, she looks great and she is incredibly RARE...Grab this opportunity, whilst you can.

I am starting her quite high; one because she's worth it and secondly because I am quite happy to keep her.

Postage to the UK will cost £3.50. NOT FREE. If you win, please wait for me to send you the invoice as I shall include the £3.50 in the invoice.
