Description
Up for bids here is an ultra-rare Beatles/Four Seasons album in very nice condition. The front cover is clean and undamaged, as are the inside gate-folds and the back cover. The spine is exceptionally clean with the only real wear being a light scuffing at the bottom portion of the spine (precisely at the bottom corner). It has the appearance of a bit of fluffy cardboard at the very bottom portion of the spine. The album sleeves are in nearly pristine condition...bright white, no tears or marks (minus an imprint on one where the center/label area of the album has made an imprint). The Beatles album contains light scratches on both sides but absolutely nothing that impedes the playability of the album. The label stickers are clean and intact.The Four Seasons album is in precisely the same condition. The insert openings on both albums show several light signs of failed record entry into the sleeves. In other words, there are a few lightly dented and marred areas in the cardboard. This is more true on the Four Seasons side of the gate-fold sleeve than the Beatles side. The scorecard on the back of the album is completely unmarked. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask them. I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner. Court rulings during litigation with Capitol Records prohibited Vee-Jay from issuing material but that didn't stop them from being able to repack an old material. Vee-Jay lost contract rights to the Four Seasons the same time as it did with the Beatles due to non-payment of royalties but retained all the rights to issue whatever they still had the masters of.
To make as many sales as possible yet stay within legal limits, Vee-Jay issued this double record set which contained the previously released 'Introducing The Beatles' and 'The Golden Hits 'of the Four Seasons (VJLP 1065/VJSR 1065). Anticipating bad sales, Vee-Jay Records limited production to less than 20,000 copies.
