Description
Up for Auction here is a MEGA rare Beatles record, a STEREO UK FIRST PRESSING of there infamous WHITE ALBUM, but with a MAJOR difference, side two features the impossibly hard to find label error, ‘Rocky RaCoon’ instead of ‘Rocky Raccon’!!!! These White albums are extremely hard to find in brilliant condition (like this one) even with the correct labelling!! Only a handful of these were pressed, and were very quickly withdrawn when the label error had been discovered.
Overall the sound from both discs is stunning, a nice crisp loud stereo sound, with no distortion, and the absolute minimum of any background noise. There is a only a minimum of markings on both records with just a few light hairlines on both, disc one both sides visually grading as Very Good PLUS and Disc two visually grading as Excellent MINUS!!! A beautiful dark sheen is still present with both discs however it is the audio that is perhaps the most awesome thing about this copy, and must grade as Excellent on both discs- still terrifically powerful, I happen to believe that the original stereo mix is superior to that of the mono (with the exception of a couple of songs), the stereo mix has a lot more definition than that of the mono particularly on songs like Back in the USSR, Martha my dear and Dear Prudence. All labels are SUPERB and must grade as Excellent+++++ condition with no ring wear, stickers or names to any!!!
The Gatefold flipback sleeve is also in brilliant solid clean condition. Slight bruising to the top left corner to the front however this does no take away from it being a Very Good+++. The cover is very white with no nasty dirt/grease marks which so often are found on these White Album covers. There is no yellowing at all, the number perhaps has faded very slightly but is still extremely clear. The spine is still in very nice condition too, only very minimal light wear showing. Corners are great too, again only very light wear showing from general storage perhaps over the years.
Perhaps one of the best features of this copy is the black inner record sleeves as they are in SUPERB condition with NO tears or creases whatsoever!!! They have obviously been treated very well when being taken out of the main cover, as they are still very flat which so often is NOT the case with White album Black inners. They both certainly grade as Excellent maybe even better!
Both the original poster and photos are in superb condition also. Grading as Excellent on both counts, with no tape marks pin markings and other annoying features that can be found on the majority!!! A slight mark on the top of Pauls photo but this is tiny and barely noticeable. Overall in Brillliant condition!
This example is certainly a FANTASTIC copy of this rare version of this album, remember BARELY any were made, making them almost IMPOSSIBLE to find, ESPECIALLY in this sort of condition!! Please remember to check out my other items also! Ta! PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS!!!price rating
