Description
Beatles White Album, a really luxurious stereo copy.
This was purchased by my father on the release date in 1968, and rarely played as he knew the rarity value, as far as I recall he listened to the album on cassette instead. To my knowledge it has not been played since at least the late 1970's. This copy has some features which are very scarce:
Sleeve - Top-open sleeve. In generally great condition, some yellowing towards the edges of the cover, and some flaking of the spine and fading of spine text. Also some minor creases/marks. Far better than lots of examples I've seen. Numbered 0447691. I believe stereo numbers came after the mono numbers (I'm not an expert though) and so this would be a fairly low stereo number.
Contents - poster and four photos in gorgeous condition. The photos look almost untouched. You can tell the poster has been opened a few times but no real issues. There is no photo spacer. The original plain black paper record sleeves are a little tatty, there are a couple of large tears presumably from the photos/poster catching on the die-cut, and some edges are worn through. I ran out of photo space but if you want a photo just ask. This is the only main fault really - if you could swap the sleeves and add a spacer from another copy you'd have a stunner of a record.
Record markings -
Side 1: YEX 709-1, G, MM
Side 2: YEX 710-1, 4, TO (KT tax code)
This side has the "racoon" misprint
Side 3: YEX 711-1, 2, H
Side 4: YEX 712-1, 1, RG
Disc two (sides 3-4) does not have the "an EMI recording" text. This is a rarity of the very earliest pressings, but on almost all the sold copies I've seen it's disc one that is missing this, not disc two. This seems really rare indeed from my research to list this record. There is no tax code on disc two.
Record grading (see bold note below) -
I know this was rarely played and apart from some dust there are very few marks and no visible scratches. I can't play it as I don't have a turntable. I've made no attempt to clean it but I'd imagine any buyer would get the disc professionally de-dusted (if that's even a word!) to ensure its deserved future. As a result I've graded the discs as EX.
Overall, from what I've seen, heard and read, White Albums don't come too much better and often than this, a super copy. Sensible offers will be considered but bear in mind you risk missing out if another buyer gets there first.
Important note: I'm selling old possessions so although I'm familiar with, I'm no expert in record grading. I can't test the discs as I no longer have a turntable. All grades are my own carefully considered opinion so please see for yourself from photos or ask questions before purchase. All discs are sold as seen with no returns but I try to be as absolutely clear and honest as possible with lots of photos and good descriptions :)

Lots more old Beatles and other 90s vinyl being listed! Please check my other listings, treat yourself or perhaps find an ideal Christmas gift :)

Will be very well packed and postman proof, and sent Special Delivery due to the value. I pride myself on great packaging and invite you to look at my recent feedbacks which often mention this, so you can buy with complete confidence. I will always combine postage for multiple items if you want to treat yourself! Requesting this is tricky using the app, please ask first and I'll talk you through it. Please don't just buy lots of items and pay all the postage costs upfront as they don't refund the fees when I refund the buyer :(
International shipping: More than happy to ship worldwide and very experienced in shipping abroad. Prices are airmail and include tracking and adequate compensation.
Please note that post-Brexit, EU Customs are still having some delays, and also be aware of the potential for import duty which is the buyer's responsibility.
