Description
The Beatles PMC 7067 PMC 7068 UK Mono White Album as released on 22nd November 1968 Top Opener No 0162895 In November 1968 Stereo had really taken over and won the day from Mono so by far the most sales were in Stereo. Hence there`s a discrepancy in price as there are fewer Mono`s As this was the first LP on the Beatles newly formed Apple Records mistakes were inevitably made The EMI publishing Credit was left off the labels of initial pressings such as this one ( All 4 Sides ) These tend to be the very early pressings of the album. This was very quickly rectified as it was a legal requirement ! Purchase Tax Code KT to Side 2 Matrix Nos in order are XEX 709-1 XEX 710-1 XEX 711-1 and XEX 712-1 Mothers in order are 3 PO,5 AL,2 LM and 4 GDR KT Purchase Tax Code to Side Two Centre Label Sold in the UK Subject to Label Text but no EMI publishing credits to any sides. Overall excellent with some light spindle marks John Kelly Portraits are Near Mint with 1 Spacer ( Spacers were between every 4 photos to aid the packing if you were lucky you got one but then some owners threw them away ) Happily this one has retained its spacer. Audio is Excellent The Mono mixes and Stereo mixes of The White Album differ with some Tracks sounding better in Mono others in Stereo hence most like to have both versions. The Track Helter Skelter in Mono the most noticeable as it eliminates the fade in at the end of track and Ringo shouting " I`ve got blisters on my fingers !" is missing. The track Yer Blues is longer in the Mono format. Shortly to be celebrating its 50th Anniversary of release ! A lovely copy of the Mono 1st pressing -1 that has been well cared for in a lovely clean white sleeve Posting Immediate LP`s outside of Sleeve in associated inner bags for safety in transit Will post Worldwide
