Description
The Beatles – The White Album (UK 1st Press Mono 1968) PMC 7067 / PMC 7068
Original 1968 UK first pressing mono of The Beatles' legendary self-titled double LP, better known as the White Album. Issued on Apple Records, catalogue numbers PMC 7067 / PMC 7068.
This is the rare and highly sought-after 1st press mono edition with:
-
Top-loading sleeve with embossed “The BEATLES” and number: No. 0188835
-
Dark Apple labels with no “EMI” rim text
-
“An EMI Recording” printed below the spindle hole
-
Original black inner sleeves
Vinyl Condition:
Both records are in Excellent (EX) condition. The surfaces retain their original gloss and show only faint signs of use. Audio playback is strong, clear and dynamic with minimal surface noise. Visually beautiful and great sounding — a standout copy.
Cover Condition:
The top-opening sleeve is in Very Good+ (VG+) condition, with some natural yellowing and light age spotting to the front and rear. No tears or writing. All seams intact. Spine is clean and readable. Numbering is clear and visible.
Stamper and Matrix Information:
All four sides are true first pressings:
-
Side 1: XEX 709-1 – Stamper: OO – Mother: 1
-
Side 2: XEX 710-1 – Stamper: RA – Mother: 1
-
Side 3: XEX 711-1 – Stamper: PD – Mother: 5
-
Side 4: XEX 712-1 – Stamper: AH – Mother: 2
These indicate early-generation stampers — prized by audiophile collectors for being closer to the original master lacquer.
PORTRATE PICTURES
VG+ with no tears or creases but do have sticky tape marks on each of the 4 corners.
POSTER
VG, still strong along the folds but the corners and creases do have sticky tape on them.
BLACK INNER SLEEVES
VG+ Still intact with 2 sticky tape repairs but no splits. Album comes supplied with anti-static sleeves whilst in transit.
