Description
The Beatles, 'The White Album'.
Original UK Apple label stereo 1968 1st press double LP.
The first pressing with top opening sleeve, all the inserts (including the photo spacer) and the wide spine cover. The No. 0472721 on the front cover and the 'Sold in the UK..' label texts, 'KT' Tax code & the dark green Apple second variant labels with the 'An E.M.I. Recording' credit (see The Beatles Collection online)! The fully laminated wide spine Garrod & Lofthouse top opening gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light laminate rubbing & some light corner/edge wear, with a couple of small laminate creases on the outer cover. The wide spine is intact and still readable, but it is slightly crushed and the laminate has cracked and lifted in places. The plain black inners are intact & in VG+ condition, with some light creasing and the matt foldout poster is in EX condition, with some light creasing, the four photos and paper spacer are intact and in EX condition. The records are in visually EX condition, sides 1 & 2 have a few faint hairlines & a couple of small needle marks and sides 3 & 4 have a few faint sleeve removal hairlines & a couple more light needle marks/scuffs visible on each side. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a few faint spindle markings on sides 1 & 2 and a few faint spindle markings on sides 3 & 4. The sound reproduction is EX, clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves & briefly in a couple of the quieter passages, overall it is still a really great, loud & punchy listen! The matrix nos. are; YEX-709-1 mother stamper 6-OP, YEX-710-1 mother stamper 4-PG, YEX-711-1 mother stamper 3-GRG, YEX-712-1 mother stamper 1-GGA.
